Brookline

Though technically a separate town from Boston, Brookline has long been an integral part of the city’s cultural and residential fabric. It was the birthplace of President John F. Kennedy and has historically been a hub for Boston’s elite. Brookline features a mix of brownstones, classic Victorian homes, and upscale apartment buildings. Some areas, like Coolidge Corner, have a more urban feel, while areas near Chestnut Hill offer sprawling estates. Coolidge Corner is the heart of Brookline, home to the Coolidge Corner Theatre, independent bookstores, and beloved restaurants like Zaftigs Delicatessen. Brookline also boasts beautiful green spaces, including Larz Anderson Park and the Emerald Necklace. The town is popular among families, professionals, and students from nearby Boston University. A fun fact is that Brookline has some of the strictest liquor laws in the area, with very few bars compared to surrounding neighborhoods. Public transportation includes the Green Line (C and D branches) and buses like the 66, which connects to Harvard Square.
